Throw Down Your Arms

In fall 2019, Darkspark assembled a diverse cross-section of youth, music producers and professional artists who have been personally impacted by gun violence

Throw Down Your Arms participants used song-writing, recording and video, to tell their stories and tackle this increasingly pervasive issue in a unique way. The program placed youth voices at the center of this conversation, harnessing the power of lived experience, art and multimedia to touch audiences far and wide.

Participants wrote and recorded songs that speak to the impact of gun violence. The resulting songs and multi-media campaign was released digitally on February 14th, 2020 – the anniversary of the Parkland School shooting.
