YELLOWKNIFE IS THE CAPITAL OF CANADA’S NORTHWEST TERRITORIES – THE CITY LIES ON THE NORTH SHORE OF GREAT SLAVE LAKE.

In fall and winter, one can watch the breathtaking northern lights from nearly anywhere in the city. An eclectic and transient place, Yellowknife is home to a diverse population with a lot of heart and soul.

While there, the Darkspark team collaborated with a multicultural class of students from various First Nations, the Philippines, China and more. We were fortunate to have local artist Digawolf in the classroom with us, alongside our partner educators Marianne Maltby & Kristin Nowak, Elder Verna Crapeau and staff of Weledeh Catholic School..

Thanks to Heritage Canada, Yellowknife Catholic Schools, Government of the Northwest Territories and Jesse Reid for their support in bringing The Four Directions Project to Yellowknife.
