Four Directions

SURROUNDED BY MOUNTAIN VISTAS AND THE PACIFIC OCEAN, THE COMOX VALLEY IS LOCATED ON THE EASTERN COAST OF VANCOUVER ISLAND, CANADA.

The Darkspark team visited during the height of Spring on the island – endless blue skies and cherry blossoms set the stage for our time at Lake Trail Middle School, whose diverse student population reflects the diversity of the Comox Valley itself. 

While there, our team collaborated with Grade 7, 8 & 9 students, teacher Tim Horner, Aboriginal Support Worker Genie Lindsay and staff from Lake Trail Middle School. We were also fortunate to learn about the land from Kwakwakaʼwakw Elder Mary Everson and her family, who have lived in the valley for many generations.
